THE REVELATION
Sounds like John writing the final book of the bible, when he experiences the revelation (the unveiling) of Jesus Christ and a divine vision of things that are yet to come. Though that is not exactly what happened to us it seems pretty close in some ways…
We took liberty to head west and spend some time in the mountains recently; we just needed some time away and a bit of R & R.
It never quite works out exactly like we plan as we ministered, encouraged and sowed seeds of the Gospel in Ohio, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Montana, British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan.
The story though is this… we felt we went prepared… EZ Pass for tolls, WiFi, GPS, Chip Credit Card, computer, & cell phones. All failed!!! EZ Pass repeatedly wouldn’t raise the toll gates, WiFi was generally slow at best, GPS went blank and into default mode without reason, Chip card needed “tapped” and still failed frequently, cell phone reception was terrible, and even the swipe-card motel room lock didn’t work at times! We thought, “that’s it”, we’re ready toboycott all electronics and new technology!!! To top it off we see a farm tractor anda skid-steer loader with iron tires! I guess someone had this same thought years ago. Now mind you, green and yellow paint on the diesel fired tractor and yellow and black paint on the skid-steer. I wonder if the seats were padded?
The revelation is this… The Jews adhered to ‘the law’; certain traditions hold fast to iron tires, horses and coal-oil lamps; some even to dress, grooming, attire and even music styles. And us??? Boycott technology… probably won’t work?
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. (Col. 2:8)
As resistant as we are to new technology, watch for some new and exciting media events from KEYSTONE WORLD OUTREACH!
The technological age is here and we can resist, or we can embrace and utilize. We choose to embrace and utilize and use the tools available today to reach the world for Christ!
Please pray for us as we prepare for “A Night of Music” at Friends Creek Church of God in Emmittsburg, MD next month. All are welcome! You will enjoy an evening of music, singing, fellowship and encouragement from the Word of God.
Pray too as we plan to travel once again to Northern Ontario to encourage and share the Word of God this fall. We will also be taking supplies to pregnancy ministry centers, soup kitchens, camps and possibly rehab. facilities as the Lord directs. Our territory is expanding rapidly in this region.
Lydia’s Grace is in desperate need of feminine napkins, tampons and washcloths! We have developed a new relationship with “House of Hope”, a recovery center for women in Chambersburg. We are so excited to be envolved with this new ministry and get in on the ground floor to help those in need as we share the Gospel of Christ.
Lydia’s Grace is an approved subsidiary of Keystone World Outreach that focuses on sharing the love of Jesus to women in need through the distribution of feminine care products.
